## Which adapter should I buy?

A MeatPi WiCAN USB over Bluetooth is the recommended daily path on iOS and Android. It needs our v5.0+ dongle firmware, and BLE only runs the RealDash 66 protocol. Wi-Fi TCP works too, though the phone then sits on the dongle network and usually has no internet. On Android you can also hardwire a CANable 2.0 or USB SLCAN adapter. Same USB path on embedded Linux. There is no USB CAN path on iOS. Setup steps are in the Pulse getting started guide.

## Do I need an in-car computer?

No. Your phone or tablet can be the cluster, and the CAN adapter plugs into the car. Embedded Linux is there if you want a dedicated dash instead.

## Does it only work with a Dynam VCU+?

No. The VCU+ is the first supported bus, but Pulse can be retrofitted into a legacy system and talk to other compatible modules. Tell us what you are running and we will confirm the fit.

## Does Pulse modify the car?

It reads the CAN bus by default. Any frame it sends is gated behind hold-to-confirm, and Pulse never sends a torque request.

## Where is the data stored?

On the device, until you turn Cloud Connect on. It is off by default. Then you get fault snapshots, and you can pull a trip log from Dynam Cloud.

## Can I see the car remotely?

Pulse reads the CAN adapter in the car. Cloud Connect is off by default, so nothing leaves the device. Turn it on and you see state of charge, range, position, and faults in Dynam Cloud, along with climate, charge port, and charge target. There are no torque or shift commands. A fault snapshot shows up when it seals. The trip log stays on the device until you pull it.

## Does Pulse have navigation?

No. The map on a trip is the route you already drove, and you can scrub it. Pulse also has no charger search or radio.

## Can I make my own gauges?

Yes. Hold to edit, then drag a tile onto a 4×2 grid, eight tiles to a page. You can add up to eight pages. A signal can be an arc, a readout, a bar, a level, or a trend. There are day and night themes, or you set the colors yourself.

## Can I see every cell?

Yes. Diagnostics draws a bar for every cell, voltage or internal resistance, and calls out the min and max.

## Can I replay a drive?

Yes. Open a trip and scrub it. Pulse logs the drive once a second. Speed, gear, power, battery, elevation, and temperature stay on the same moment. Longer trips are averaged on the chart.

## Can I see what the car was doing when a fault set?

Yes. Each onset keeps 60 seconds before it set and 10 seconds after, one sample a second. Scrub that window the same way you scrub a trip.

## Can I use Pulse on more than one car?

Yes. Settings keeps a garage. Switch vehicles there. Each one has its own drive log and fault journal.

## How do I get in?

Pulse is in TestFlight and Play internal testing today. Ask us for an invite - then follow the getting started guide for the install steps, including the extra Play Store developer-mode step on Android.
